Triview Board Elections Set for May 6

The Triview Metropolitan District will hold an election on May 6 to replace three of our longtime board members – Anthony Sexton, James Barnhart and Mark Melville – who are stepping down due to term limits. We extend our sincere gratitude to Anthony, James and Mark for their years of dedicated service to our community. Their leadership was instrumental in completing the Northern Delivery System and other critical water projects, as well as ensuring the district’s continued financial stability.

Triview is a special district governed by a volunteer board of five publicly elected members. Board elections occur every two years, with members serving four-year terms. This year, we are pleased to introduce four candidates who are running for our three open positions.

Erik Demkowicz

A proud member of the Tri-Lakes community since 1999, Erik has called the district home for nearly a decade. A U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and veteran, he dedicated 29 years to serving his country and is now eager to serve his local community. Erik recognizes that growth is inevitable, but he believes it must be managed thoughtfully to preserve our area’s unique quality of life. He takes great pride in his neighborhood and has seen firsthand how strong district leadership can positively shape development. Now an instructor pilot for United Airlines, Erik brings a commitment to service, leadership and strategic thinking. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

John Gibbons

After a distinguished career as a U.S. Air Force pilot and 15 additional years in the defense industry, John is eager to dedicate his time to community service in Monument—a place he and his family have grown to love. With extensive experience in large-scale program management, financial oversight and infrastructure development, John brings valuable expertise in planning and budgeting for long-term projects. He is particularly passionate about prioritizing road maintenance and sustainable housing development to support the district’s future. He also values the district’s well-managed water plans and hopes to contribute his expertise to the community’s continued growth. After 23 moves in 45 years, John and his wife, Linda, are proud to call Monument home, where they enjoy being close to their five children and 13 grandchildren.

Ann-Marie Jojola

Ann-Marie has been a resident of the District since 2013, when the Air Force brought her family to the Front Range. Drawn to Monument’s strong schools, welcoming community and outdoor access, she quickly became an engaged advocate for local water management. A regular attendee of district board meetings, Ann-Marie is committed to prioritizing community interests in water resource management, wastewater treatment and green space maintenance. She brings over 20 years of leadership and project management experience, excelling in navigating challenges and making informed decisions. An active volunteer in schools, scouting and her neighborhood HOA, she is dedicated to responsible growth and sustainability. Ann-Marie and her family embrace the area’s outdoor lifestyle, enjoying hiking, skiing, and biking while supporting their children’s sports teams.

Mike McEwen

Mike has called the district home for 23 years and has a deep appreciation for the Monument area, particularly its climate and close-knit community. With over 40 years of experience as a software developer and business owner, he brings valuable expertise in process solutions and organizational management. His decision to run for the board was sparked by a conversation with a friend who currently serves, and he found the opportunity intriguing. Mike will approach this role with an open mind, eager to learn before forming opinions on key district matters. Above all, his love for the community and commitment to family—having six grown children and four grandchildren—motivate him to contribute in a meaningful way.

District Updates Water Rates for 2025

As we transition from spring to the peak summer months — when water usage in the district is at its highest —residents are reminded that water is billed using a tiered rate system based on consumption. As usage increases, so does the rate for each subsequent tier. This year, the number of tiers has been reduced from five to four. The table below details the updated rates per usage.

To help detect potential leaks early, regularly monitor your water usage through the Eye On Water app or through the website https://helpeyeonwater.com/ which works with the new smart water meters installed in the district. Please address any leaks as quickly as possible, to conserve this valuable resource and avoid unnecessary costs.

Other District News

  • Reminder: Sanctuary Park is closed to organized activities on Sundays. This designated day allows Sanctuary community residents to enjoy the park’s amenities without competing with scheduled sports or events. The popular eight-acre park features scenic trails, a five-acre artificial turf field for soccer, lacrosse and other sports, as well as a picturesque covered pergola — perfect for informal gatherings and relaxation.
  • Train Park, located at the intersection of Lyons Tail and Gleneagle Drive, will be getting a shade structure/pergola late this spring for residents to enjoy.
  • In Paiute Park, we are improving the drainage around the mailboxes as it can get icy in the winter. We are also extending the concrete sidewalk, thereby replacing the existing crushed asphalt trail.
